“A data breach at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern has some patients worried their personal information was exposed.
Officials say a hospital vendor exposed the names and Social Security numbers of more than a half-million patients on the internet. “It’s very disconcerting because you feel when you are in the hospital you are safe. Your personal information, your physical being … and to find out that information is leaking, especially in this day of cybercrimes, it is concerning,” says Susan Nesteros from Suffern.
The breach happened in April but wasn’t discovered until June.”
